International Education Week is a weeklong event in November celebrating the importance of different cultures and global awareness. Generally, various events are held this week with free food, performances, and more!

This event takes place in the spring and is held outside by the fountain for the day.
There is a parade where international students and study abroad alumni carry a flag
of their country, a variety of music and performances, and booths from different countries
and organizations providing information, goodies, or food and drinks to sample.
It provides the community with a unique opportunity to engage and explore world cultures
and fascinating traditions through food, music, dance, and artistry.
The Study Abroad Fair gives prospective study abroad students the opportunity to learn about programs for the summer, a semester, a year, and for faculty-led. Study abroad alumni, international students, and partners from around world share valuable information and their perspectives on the benefits of global engagement.
Our office offers a number of exciting ways for U.S. students and international students to share their experiences and cultures.
I-Pals connect international students with a WCU student while they're studying here on campus. WCU students make sure that every international student has a WCU peer who can help them get accustomed to life on and around campus.
The Going Global! living learning community is open to students from the U.S. and
around the world who want to think globally while connecting locally. Students will
be enriched in this internationally-focused environment through a combination of global
engagement programming, interactive cultural experience, and community service.
Community members live on the same hall in the beautiful Blue Ridge Residence Hall
- an ideal situation for study abroad students, international students, honors college
students, and world-concious students alike!
A variety of activities are offered on this hall, with student input and engagement being and expected part of the themed community experience. Activities offered are, in part,
be guided by community interests. Campus globalization activities will be centered
around the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Most activities will be restricted to living learning community members and guests,
but some will also be available to the campus and surrounding community. Potential
community activites include, but not be limited to, the following:
