Schedule an appointment with the advisor liaison to the major you want to declare. You want to do this through Navigate (“Advising and Tutoring” link under My Apps in your myWCU). You must schedule an appointment with the correct Advisor who is the liaison for the department.

Western Carolina University offers many programs leading to professional licensure or certification. If you are considering a degree program which leads to professional licensure or certification, it’s important for you to understand if the program meets the requirements in the state you are planning to reside and work. Changing or declaring a MINOR or CONCENTRATION within your major does not require an appointment. Stop by the Advising Center on weekdays from 10 AM to 4 PM to meet with the Walk-In Advisor who will submit your request.
An APPROVED PROGRAM is a specific set of courses approved by your major department to fulfill your degree requirements. Many major programs require a Second Major, a Minor, or an Approved Program.
